New Year's Eve 2010 and 2011

New Year's Eve 2010 was our first day at home with Maia. Here is the difference a year makes.

She's the same and yet so different!!

Our first international adoption timeline

December 30, 2010 - We arrive home! December 29, 2010 - Leave Kiev for US! December 28, 2010 - Day 2 of Embassy Appts, Receive Maia's Visa December 27, 2010 - Day 1 of Embassy Appts, Maia's immigration medical exam December 26, 2010 - Fly back to Kiev December 25, 2010 - GOTCHA Day! December 24, 2010 - Maia's adoption is official! Completed all necessary paperwork in her region. December 13, 2010 - Court Date, Adoption is approved, we begin our 10 day waiting period. December 1, 2010 - Meet Maia for the first time! November 29, 2010 - SDA Appointment in Kiev, receive our referral November 4, 2010 - We have an appointment! October 21, 2010 - Dossier submitted! October 12, 2010 - Our dossier is in Ukraine! September 29, 2010 - USCIS (I-171H) approval September 14, 2010 - Biometrics (fingerprinting) appointment with USCIS August 30, 2010 - Letter from USCIS confirming receipt of our I-600A application (now in process) August 17, 2010 - Our "request for information letter" is on it's way to Ukraine! August 5, 2010 - Homestudy draft received July 2, 2010 - Homestudy visit scheduled June 23, 2010 - Homestudy agency paperwork signed and mailed - starting the process to update our homestudy for international adoption June 22, 2010 - AAC paperwork signed and mailed, it's official! Early June 2010 - Decision to adopt from Eastern Europe
